"Perhaps the best description of this album comes not from Kendrick, but from the posthumously featured Tupac, “We just letting our dead homies tell stories for us”. Much like GKMC, TPAB speaks the loudest through the omniscient voice. But through Kendrick’s honesty and realism, this album remains just as personal as any work he’s released thus far. TPAB produces a collage of 150 years of Black history beside a depiction of living as its product, all with overwhelming cognizance."
